WHAT'S NEW?
NESTING IN A NEW PLACE
A brand new shop has opened downtown on Grand Ave in Escondido called The Prism & The Pendulum. Some might call it a crystals shop but it's so much more than that: an apothecary for the metaphysical, an art gallery, a healing space, and a place where good vibes reside. I recently became the Gallery Manager of their Raven's Nest Gallery, attached to the shop, and am happy to be curating their first art show and reception in October 2024. I will also have a couple of new and spooky pieces in the show so check out the flyer listed below and join the fun as we host our first art show reception on October 12, 2024!
ARTFUL EARTH
I absolutely love being out in nature and it has a huge influence on my art & my life. I live in a somewhat rural area of San Diego County and hike through the chaparral with my dog everyday. I started collecting rocks, mushrooms, found animal skulls, flowers & leaves, and dead butterflies & bugs. I started taking field notes of the changing season. In early 2024, I began to arrange these findings in lanterns and terrariums, creating little microcosms of the nature that surrounded me. What started as a side hobby has now become a huge part of my artistic journey. I have made nearly a dozen of these dioramas and now selling them in local shops & markets such at The Prism & Pendulum in Escondido & Tree House Trading Co. in Valley Center.
